The short film 'Gahana' directed by journalist and director Laxman Subedi has been made public on YouTube. The 32-minute longest film focuses on the domestic problems of husband and wife. Director Subedi said that the film tells the story of unemployment, economic deprivation, and social evils. The film shows how much the husband is willing to take risks for his wife who could not go to the family due to a lack of jewelry.
The film has clearly presented the extent to which problems exist due to the existing thinking in the Nepali society that jewelry should be wear while visiting the mother in festival Teej. Director Subedi has informed that the film, which has left a lot of suspense in the first part, will be made up to the third part. Naren Khadka, Saya Bhandari and Puran Thapa are in the lead roles in this short film. The script of the film was also written by director Subedi himself. The 'Gahana' is shot by Bimal Dhakal and co-directed by Binay Poudel. The 'Gahana', edited by Lalit Singh Saud, has background music by Binod Bhujel. The 'Gahana', produced by Shree Devi, Dilasha, and Sara Subedi under the banner of Dilasha Creation, is shot around Kathmandu.
