The delegation of the European Union to Nepal has informed that the 'Nepal-European Union Film Festival-2021' (NEUFF) will be held virtual. The tenth edition of the festival, which will be held from Ashwin 1 to 9, will feature 15 films from 14 European countries that have won various awards, as well as 24 other films, informed in a press conference that was held on Sunday.
Stephen Miken, an ambassador of the European Union's delegation to Nepal, said: "Cultural activities have been halted for a long time due to the epidemic. Even in such a situation, we are screening some of the best Nepali and European films online (virtual) to promote cultural exchange and fusion between Nepal and the European Union." The festival includes 11 award-winning European films. Two of these films have been subtitled in the Nepali language.
Nepali films will be screened at this festival for the first time. For this, 'Bulbul' directed by 'Binod Poudel', 'Ama Khando' directed by Dhondup Chiring, and 'Sarita' directed by Sergio Basso has been selected for the festival. The festival also includes 23 films related to wildlife conservation, the environment, and climate change. Apart from film screenings, three programs on various aspects of filmmaking will also be organized at the festival.
